A Jew Tours for Romney

I wish that every American Jew could hear how Republicans talk about Israel.
I spent the last week of October speaking to thousands of Romney supporters in four “battleground” states: Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida, and Virginia. I traveled with my Salem Radio Network colleagues Hugh Hewitt and Michael Medved and the actor Jon Voight, one of the few Hollywood stars who are a politically outspoken conservatives.
During the tour, I often wished that every American Jew could have seen and heard what the tour participants said about Jews and Israel and how much time they devoted to Jews and Israel. The two non-Jews, Jon Voight and Hugh Hewitt, and whoever was the moderator (in no instance was it a Jew), emphasized support for Israel and the Jews — in combating Islamic anti-Semitism, in acknowledging the debt of America and the Western world to the Jews, with regard to the Jewish origins of Christianity — as much as they did any American domestic issue, including the economy.
Moreover, the audiences, overwhelmingly composed of non-Jews, reacted in kind. They cheered at least as enthusiastically when Jews and Israel were mentioned as they did for any other issue dear to conservative hearts, such as small government, lower taxes, oil independence, a strong military, preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, etc.
I wondered what most Jews — meaning Jewish liberals — would think if they had they seen this. Would they think it was an act? That it was done to procure Jewish votes? That Democratic-party rallies would similarly focus on support for Jews and Israel?

Damn, this is gross.
I just don’t understand how Jewish conservatives aren’t grossed out by Christian obsession with Jews/Israel. These must be the same Jews who don’t care about cultural appropriation or Mormons doing posthumous baptisms of Shoah victims and survivors (remember when they tried to baptize Elie Wiesel, who’s, ya know, still alive?)
Are conservatives Jews seriously thrown off by US Jews’ love of liberalism just because leftists in Europe are more prone to anti-Semitism? Um, hello, every single goy is prone to anti-Semitism! And if you’re going to lump in European leftism with its US counterpart, why don’t I bring up all the incredibly anti-Semitic right-wingers in Europe, like Le Pen in France and Golden Dawn in Greece to name but a few.
What is so hard to admit that Jews are now, like always, in between a rock and a hard place when it comes to politics, since both right and left are prone to anti-Semitism? WHY CAN’T YOU ADMIT THAT? Is it too depressing for you? It’s so depressing that you have to traffic with people that can’t stop talking about how much they LOOOVE Jews and Israel? And how does that, to bring me back to my initial point, not creep you out?!
Or do conservative Jews try and look at this “pragmatically” and when they see the ~75% Jewish support for Obama just search for allies everywhere as long as said allies are conservative, albeit Jew-obsessed anti-Semites?
