Racism is on the rise in Israel, as it is in the US given economic climates. The Israeli government is doing nothing to help the situation. The situation of foreign workers and African immigrants in Israel is deplorable and they face discrimination and violence daily. That should be the main point of the story.
Not the Zionist ideology that we have no idea this gunman actually may or may not have. (The only unifying factor of Zionists is that they all support a Jewish homeland in Israel. Pretty broad. Probably little to do with this murder.) And considering Israel is less than 50% “white” (and many Ashkenazi Jews do not identify as white, although they pass as it and so often are included in white privilege), it is a stretch to assume the gunman was white.
