A German court has sparked outrage among both Jewish and Muslim communities in the country after it ruled that circumcision was illegal.
The ruling was passed following a botched circumcision by a Muslim doctor on a four-year-old boy in Cologne. The boy was rushed to the emergency room after he bled for two straight days. Upon hearing of the incident, German authorities decided to sue the doctor.
The controversy began after a district court in Cologne deemed the practice illegal, saying it constitutes physical harm against newborn babies and is defined as “irreversible damage against the body.” Read more.

Well if Germany feels any better, prohibition is just going to drive people to do it elsewhere and at times with less oversight. No one is seriously going to stop because the government said so.
Indeed. This isn’t going to make things better.
And it’s never a bad time to say that patriarchy would never let anything too severe happen to its precious penises (and that’s why if you compare circumcision to FGM you’re a right prick).
